He
was a student of Embroidered and Woven Textiles in Glasgow
School of Art from 1966 - 1970 with the legendary embroidery
designer and textile artist Kathleen Whyte. He teaches design
in Glasgow Caledonian University, where he holds the
title of Millennium Fellow in Design.
In
1999 he was awarded the prestigious Lord Provost's Gold Medal
for the Visual Arts.
He
