EIGHT
is the number of the Resurrection
The
reason being that it was on the eighth day after his entry into
Jerusalem that Christ rose from the grave. The design comes from
ancient symbolism where "8" represents the heavenly and
earthly spheres, joined and touching. The upper ring shows a map
of the heavens and the lower, the world with Scotland highlighted
in gold. The world is ringed around with a rainbow to signify the
eternal promise.
